Indoor workout ideas when rainy weather won’t let you exercise outside

Don't let "bad weather" break your good exercise habit! I once read an account from a man who loved exercising, but got in trouble with the law and ended up serving a 6-mo prison sentence. He had to figure out a way to keep his physical conditioning up without use of a gym. His solution? He would do 2 sets of 100 burpees in his jail cell every morning when he woke up! Many of my clients would rather be in jail than do that!

In all seriousness, the point is it can be very simple. For me, I get bored easily so I prefer something with a little more variety. For example, try a rotation of 3 complimentary movements, performed as many times as possible in a predetermined time period:

15 min: 20 jumping jacks + 10 burpees + 5ea. lateral lunges

Or make it 2 rotations of exercises, for 10 mins ea, for a longer workout with more variety:

10 min: 20 jumping jacks + 10 burpees + 5ea side lateral lunges, then...

10 min: 30 sec ea side plank + 10 pushups + 15 squats

Try to avoid exercises that require the same muscle group to work very hard (e.g. a rotation of squats, squat-jumps, and lunges would be pretty miserable when you get deep in it).
